However, for those with a significant amount of credit, I will carry it over to the next season. We communicate beginning in November, that golf shop credit has to be redeemed by year end, and we continue to communicate this through December. Under a few circumstances if a member is looking to get a new set of clubs, we allow them to carry it over to the Spring so they can get fit for the newest equipment. We issue Gift Credit to the Members for Member Event winnings throughout the year. The gift credit expires on Dec 30 of each year. Each member is sent their credit balance in November and they can use it up to Dec 30. We do have a Holiday Sales the first Friday of the month. Any left over credit is taken as breakage. Log in to Reply Anonymous on April 3, 2020 at 12:00 am We give shop credit for most club events and member’s credit does not expire at the end of the year or season. For outside events we put an expiration date on the gift certificates that is either one year later than or the end of the current year depending on the event and when it occurs in the calendar. Credit book expires at the end of the year and those with balances are reminded at 2 months and 1 month prior to the expiration. This strategy eliminates long term carryover liability and is similar to our Club’s food and beverage minimum policy.
