What are your current plans or expectations for Junior Programs over the next several months? by Amy Estep | May 7, 2020 | Uncategorized | 26 comments 26 Comments Pages:«123 Jim Fatsi on May 9, 2020 at 1:32 am We are optimistic and with proper social distancing and a 4:1 ratio we believe we can proceed with a program. We will stagger start times to avoid large groups showing up or hanging out. Log in to Reply Amy Estep on May 8, 2020 at 2:58 pm We are looking into ways to be flexible and stay just below cdc guidelines as soon as we are free to do so. Possible that we won’t have any at all this summer, bad news for a club with 175+ juniors coming through our programs each week. I would be very curious to hear others’ plans and predictions. Log in to Reply Amy Estep on May 8, 2020 at 2:57 pm We planned an extensive program (something everyday starting March 10) and had a large number signed up to participate. All got thrown out the door w/Covid19. Through April and May we have been running what we call the “wave” system. We have 5 golf professionals each professionals takes 3 or 4 juniors for an hour for practice and clinic or 2 hours to play 9 holes – depending on day. The wave comes into play the first group may start at 2:00, then second group at 3:00 etc. so not to create too much crowding in practice areas or on the first tee. It has worked great and each session has been full. The governor of Kentucky given the green light June 15th for junior “camp and sports”we hope to return to “partial normal” then. Once we open, phase 1 will probably be more one on one possibly on the range and/or golf course. Phase 2, may allow us to coach kids in small pods of no more than 4. Phase 3, which may happen in August, could possibly allow us to increase group sizes. Log in to Reply Pages:«123 Submit a Comment Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
