Apex, NC – July 14, 2026 – Golf Business Network (GBN) Executive Search Team is pleased to announce the placement of Eric Schultz, PGA, as Director of Golf at The Tree Farm, a destination golf club located just outside Aiken, South Carolina. The placement adds to GBN’s growing track record of successful searches, this time leading the process for a Director of Golf who could bring the same ambition and forward momentum that defines The Tree Farm itself.
The Tree Farm, started by PGA TOUR player Zac Blair, features an 18-hole course routed by celebrated architect Tom Doak and designed by Blair and Kye Goalby. Built for passionate golfers who value walking, fast play, and camaraderie, the club has quickly established itself as one of the Southeast’s most compelling golf destinations. Schultz will serve as the front-facing heart of the golf operation as The Tree Farm continues its growth.
Schultz brings more than 15 years of experience as a Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional at some of the country’s premier private clubs. He joins The Tree Farm from Colleton River Club in Bluffton, South Carolina, where he has served as Director of Golf since 2019, overseeing a staff of more than 30 across two 18-hole championship courses. During his tenure, Schultz guided the club through a period of significant membership growth. Throughout his career he has built a reputation for developing future industry leaders, with 17 former assistants going on to their own Head Professional or Director of Golf positions.
Prior to Colleton River, Schultz held Director of Golf and Head Professional roles at Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, with earlier assistant professional experience at Pine Valley Golf Club, The Wanderers Club, and other notable private clubs across the Northeast and Florida.
Schultz’s industry recognition includes the Carolina Section PGA Professional Development Award (2025), the Carolina Section Bill Strausbaugh Award (2024), and the Carolina Section Lowcountry Chapter Golf Professional of the Year (2023). He currently serves on the Carolina Section PGA Board and as President Elect of the Lowcountry Chapter.
