Golf Business Network Members Gather Across Three States for Candid Conversation on Industry Leadership

Apex, NC — June 11, 2026 —Golf Business Network (GBN) has wrapped up the first round of its 2026 Regional Leadership Retreat series. From the Low Country of South Carolina to the Hill Country of Texas and out to the shores of Long Island, these retreats brought together groups of GBN members for focused, honest conversations about what it means to lead in today’s golf industry.

The three retreats included:

Colleton River Club | Bluffton, South Carolina | May 19, 2026

Austin Country Club | Austin, Texas | May 27, 2026

Amagansett Golf Club | Amagansett, New York | June 3, 2026

A sincere thank you goes out to Colleton River Club, Austin Country Club, and Amagansett Golf Club for opening their doors and providing the kind of setting that makes these conversations possible. We are equally grateful to Eric Schultz, CW Canfield, and Tim Garvin for their generosity in hosting fellow GBN members at their clubs. Events like these don’t happen without that kind of buy-in from our membership, and it does not go unnoticed.

We also want to recognize and thank our retreat sponsors, Flagd, Tee Commerce, and Turtleson for their support across all three events. Their partnership makes it possible to deliver these experiences at the level our members deserve, and we are grateful for their continued investment in the GBN community.

Each retreat was limited to around 15 attendees by design, keeping the format intimate enough for honest conversation. Led by GBN VP of Education Spencer Clouatre and grounded in the six Leadership Economic Principles, the discussions covered themes that most golf leaders navigate daily but rarely examine at this level: what separates a good golf professional from a great one, how to build a genuinely invested staff culture, and how to communicate more effectively with board members and club owners. One takeaway emerged consistently across all three locations: the value of slowing down to examine your assumptions is almost always greater than it appears.

Additional regional retreats are planned through the summer, and the GBN Leadership Summit in November will give members an opportunity to spend three full days diving deeper into this framework through panel discussions and roundtable breakouts. If the energy from these first three events is any indication, the Summit is going to be a strong one.

Regional Leadership Retreats are complimentary and open to all GBN members. Space is limited to keep the format intimate and the conversations productive. Members interested in attending a future retreat are encouraged to reach out to the GBN team for information on upcoming dates and locations.
