    The Fort Wayne Country Club is an exclusive private club established in 1908. The club is located just outside of downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. The golf operation is active with a membership that plays 20,000 rounds per season. The “golf season” begins in early April and runs through the end of October. There are currently 400 Golf Members and over 600 total Members at the club.In November 2021, the club will open a Golf Academy located adjacent to the Practice Range. The facility will have three member bays and one instruction/fitting bay for Professional use only. The instruction/fitting bay will include Swing Catalyst teaching and coaching software, a force plate, cameras, and GC Quad launch monitor.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for contributing to the success of the overall Golf Operation.
    He or she will manage the staff, members, and represent the golf operation in the absence of the Head Golf Professional. The Assistant Professional will be accountable for the management of all areas of the golf operation on a day-to-day basis and reporting all necessary items to the Head Golf Professional. The areas of accountability include, but are not limited to:

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
    Manage all aspects of the golf operation in the absence of the Head Golf Professional
    Provide member service of the highest possible quality
    Management of the golf services staff in its daily operations
    Train new staff in areas of the golf operation
    Manage 1st Tee/Starter and golf course pace of play
    Oversee weekly Men’s League
    Manage/Execute non-member Outings
    Assist in the management of the golf shop merchandising as needed
    Oversee operational cleanliness and appearance
    Teach individual lessons and clinics
    Organize and direct the Junior Golf Program
    Play golf with a broad cross-section of the FWCC Membership
    Maintain golf skills at a respectable level
    Active in Local and Sectional Events

    Use the Fort Wayne CC position to enhance the club’s reputation in the golf community, and to attract new members

    TIME REQUIREMENTS:
    The golf season at FWCC begins on or around April 1st each year with the Assistant Professional on site 30 to 40 hours during the shoulder months of March, April, October, November.
    During the prime golf season, May, June, July, August, and September, the Assistant Professional is expected to be on site 40 to 50 hours depending on the event schedule and as needed.
    During the off season months of December, January, and February work time requirements are reduced with agreed upon time off in January and February.
    5-6 Day Work Week (not 6-7)

    Position Start Date: ASAP

    Supervised By: The Assistant Professional works closely with and reports directly to the Head Golf Professional

    Compensation: Base Annual Salary = $42,000
    Along with the base wage you will also have the opportunity to earn additional income in these areas of the operation:
    Junior Golf Program estimated between $7,000 and $10,000 (opportunity for growth)
    Teaching estimated between $3,000 and $8,000 (opportunity for growth)
    Club repair estimated between $400 and $500 annually
    Staff Contract with chosen equipment brand (details to be worked out with Sales Representative)

    Performance Review: A performance review will be conducted annually with the Head Golf Professional. At this meeting, budget, profitability, performance, and compensation will be reviewed.

    Signing Bonus: A $500 signing bonus will be paid following the first two weeks of employment along with a $500 bonus paid at the Assistant Professional’s anniversary annually.
