Work alongside fellow PGA Professionals at one of the Southeast’s premier family-oriented Clubs. Deliver exceptional service to Club Members and their guests while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of a world-class operation. The key goal of this role is to advance you in the golf business by enhancing your skills, fostering a deeper understanding of the industry, and expanding your professional network.
The Assistant Golf Professional has these Professional Responsibilities:
• Maintains an active Membership with the PGA of America.
• Participate in Chapter, Section, and National PGA Education and Events.
The Assistant Golf Professional has these Operational Responsibilities:
• Greet all Members and guests within 15-foot radius in a warm and welcoming manner.
• Support the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional with planning, staging, and executing an active tournament schedule.
• Active in the execution of a world-class Merchandise Operation including ordering, receiving, displaying and inventorying goods.
• Provide Members and guests with strong product knowledge, accurate information regarding guest rules and club policies.
• Assist in overseeing the operations of the practice facility, cart barn, and bag room.
• Oversee the Outside Services Staff when designated as the Professional of Duty.
• Manage the First Tee experience and accuracy of tee sheet when scheduled as Starter.
• Attend Weekly Staff Meetings and all Grandfather University Sessions.
• Serve as a role model for all Golf Staff, especially PGA Interns.
• Perform minor club repair including regripping and club alteration.
• Execute the daily opening and closing procedures of the Golf Shop.
• Teach Private Lessons and Clinics as scheduled.
• Assist in management and development of the Junior Golf Program, its instruction and associated activities.
• Organize all office and golf supplies, placing orders as needed.
• Readily maintain all work areas including the Locker Rooms, Office, Storage Areas, Bag Room, Cart Barn, and Bag Drop.
• Build relationships by playing golf with Members and their guests throughout the season.
• Complete other tasks assigned by the Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional.
The Assistant Golf Professional has these Staffing Responsibilities:
• Assists the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional in hiring Golf Operations staff, adhering to the GGCC Human Resources Manual and Recruitment/Hiring Best Practices.
• Collaborate with the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional to train all Golf Operations staff according to the policies and procedures outlined in the GGCC Golf Operations Manual.
• Mentors and trains staff to support their growth and success.
• Fosters a positive and professional work environment that encourages excellence.
The Assistant Golf Professional has these Club Related Responsibilities:
• Represent yourself to the membership and within the community in a professional manner that is consistent with Grandfather’s brand.
• Continue to improve your golf game throughout the season through play and practice.
• Attend and actively participate in monthly Staff Education sessions – Grandfather University.
• Consistently comply with the rules and regulations outlined in the Club’s Employee Handbook
