    The Assistant Professional will assist with the management of the daily golf operations including, but not limited to, golf instruction, merchandising operation, managing staff, and coordinating all tournament operations. The position will promote an exceptional “golf experience”, and provide excellent services and programs to all members, their families, and guests.

    Essential Requirements:

    -Provide exemplary service to both members and guests of Johnson City Country Club. Have a service-minded attitude
    -Each Assistant will work closely with the other Professional Staff to provide an extensive number of lessons and club fittings
    -Serve as an ambassador of the Club by tirelessly promoting, serving and representing Johnson City Country Club and understanding the importance of both the golf operation and the Club as a whole
    -Assist the Head Golf Professional in the management and execution of an extensive tournament schedule
    -Provide lessons to all segments of the membership, including: juniors, ladies, men, and seniors
    -Assist in the training, supervision, and mentoring of the Outside Service Staff.
    -Assist the Professional Staff in the implementation of all golf operation policies and procedures
    -Assist the other Professional Staff in supervising and managing the total golf operation in an effective and efficient manner in the absence of the Head Golf Professional
    -Maintain a professional appearance and presentation of yourself, men will be clean shaven
    -All Assistant’s will maintain an active classification within the PGA of America. If not already a PGA Member, they will actively pursue their membership
    -Work to keep personal golf game to a competitive level

    Specific Responsibilities:

    -Assist with Men’s golf Tournament Schedule and Programing
    -Lead the Junior Golf Program
    -Oversee communication to membership
    -Oversee tee sheet management (blocking for tournaments, frost delays, etc)
    -Scheduling for Staff
    -Assist with Ladies’ Tournaments and Programming
    -Leading the golf operation in the absence of the Head Professional
    -Attend Staff and Golf and Green Committee meetings with Head Professional
    -Involved in the budgeting process of tournaments and golf operation

    Daily Tasks:

    -Monitoring and maintaining the required pace of play, work alongside the outside service staff to ensure all areas of the operation run smoothly, and managing the practice areas and bag room
    -Fully knowledgeable of all daily, opening, and closeout procedures of the Golf Pro Shop and efficient with the computer systems used on a daily basis
    -Familiar with all aspects of tournament set-up, including scorecards, golf car tags, proximities, staging area set-up and billing charges
    -Efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher
    -Knowledgeable in Golf Genius and Jonas tee sheet software
    -Keep Golf Pro Shop counter and club repair area neat, clean and organized at all times
    -Maintain complete knowledge of the handicapping system and all pertinent handicap information
    -Stays up-dated and current on all upcoming club events
    -Knowledge and application of the USGA Rules of Golf
    -Management of tee sheet and event sign-ups
    -Minor club repair and re-gripping
    -Engage, interact, and play with the membership
    -Keeping all merchandise and displays orderly
    -Individual instruction, clinics, and club fitting

    Physical Demands / Work Environment:

    -Sufficient stamina to tolerate heat, cold, humid and rainy outdoor conditions for several hours
    -Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position
    -Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, and pulling
    -Frequent repetitive motions
    -Continuous standing and walking
