Preston Trail was designed by Byron Nelson and Ralph Plummer then later renovated by Tripp Davis in 2009. It was the home to the Byron Nelson Golf Classic from 1968 - 1982. Throughout the 15 years of Preston Trail hosting the Byron Nelson Classic helped embed a rich history and culture. PT is a unique high-profile equity club with a small, elite membership. This is purely an 18-hole championship golf facility, double-sided practice range, a learning center with 3 bays, and a short game practice area. 16,000 Rounds/year Top 5 Ranked Golf Course in Texas 17 miles North of Downtown The Head Professional, Cameron Doan, is a 2nd generation PGA professional with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and serving others. He has received many Section awards, including Golf Professional of the Year, Player of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Merchandiser of the Year, the 2018 PGA of America's Bill Strausbaugh Award, and inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 2019. Cameron is an accomplished player and enjoys sharing his passion for golf with the membership and staff at Preston Trail. Over the last 22 years, he has focused on constantly improving the operation and service levels at Preston Trail by quickly adapting to changes and developing PGA professionals as individuals to build a team. Assist the Director of Instruction
Become proficient with our Learning Center technology including TrackMan, V1, RoboGolfPro, and SAM PuttLab
Assist with club repair including gripping, shafting, and other club modifications
Observe club fittings and lessons
Assist in the daily outside service operation
Willingly perform outside services duties including maintaining the practice areas, clean/maintain the golf carts, assist with the first tee and staging area, maintain a clean an organized bag room.
Understand the entire operation thoroughly, including club rules, regulations, and policies
