    Sunningdale CC is a private club located 45 minutes north of New York City in Scarsdale, NY. The club has 375 members with 15,000 rounds played annually. The golf course, originally designed by Seth Raynor and recently renovated by Mike DeVries, is widely regarded as one of the best courses in Westchester County. The course regularly hosts MGA, USGA, and MET PGA events. Sunningdale is an active, family-oriented club that recently added a new pub, golf shop, bag room, golf staff offices, and a state-of-the-art indoor Trackman facility to its amenities. The club possesses a low-key charm that has been part of the club’s fabric since its inception in 1913. Sunningdale’s warm, welcoming membership is its best asset.

    The Sunningdale First Assistant position is a year-round position. The responsibility during the off season (Nov15– March 15) is focused on teaching and a presence is only required when teaching. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping to manage all aspects of the golf operation. The position’s primary responsibilities are managing and administering the men’s golf tournaments and hiring and overseeing the outside operations staff, including scheduling and wage administration. Providing members with first class golf instruction is a key responsibility as well. Playing in MET PGA Section events is encouraged.

    -oversee all aspects of running the men’s golf events and work closely with the Head Professional and Golf Chairman with tournament scheduling, budget preparation, and ordering awards.
    -run a portion of the Monday corporate outing tournaments
    -assist the Head Professional in hiring, training, supervising, and motivating the outside operations staff.
    -teach private lessons and clinics throughout the year, utilizing the indoor simulator facility during the winter months
    -create the weekly work schedule for the outside operations staff and coordinate wage and hour specifics with the club’saccounting department.
    -assist with golf shop operations
    -assist the golf shop manager with merchandising
    -assist with the junior golf program
    -maintain high visibility including playing with and teaching members.
    Skills / Experience required

    -minimum three years of experience working at a private club, administering tournaments, and teaching lessons
    -strong computer skills including Golf Genius, Excel, Clubessentials POS, and USGA GHIN systems a must
    -strong tournament management skills. Experience in running large tournaments (Member-Guests and Member-Member)
    -experience teaching private lessons and clinics and implementing technology in instruction (Trackman, SamPutt, Swing Catalyst)
    -strong interpersonal skills
