As a member of the Professional Staff, each and every day you will be evaluated on the following criteria:Appearance Attitude Service Level Knowledge Professionalism Accommodations of Guests Specific areas of responsibility:Manage Outside Services - Schedule all staff hours for the outside operations staff Assist in management of Tournaments/Outings Work with the Golf Professional Staff in prep for all tournaments. Schedule golf cart repair with the correct vendors. Prioritized Keys to Successful PerformanceBuild Relationships Outside Operations Management Supervise the cleaning and storage of over 400 golf bags Perform minor repairs and coordinate major repairs Successful Management of Tournaments/Outings Give direction so that all staff stays busy at all times Follow standard operating procedures to insure standard consistences Experience Required Outside Operations employment three years.Essential Responsibilities Specific Responsibilities - include but are not limited to:Manage Outside Operations service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved Manage administration of applicable staff via recordkeeping, work schedules, etc. in accordance with facility human resource policies Manage golf car operation, practice facility, and club storage service Manage the planning and budgeting for the outside golf operations including labor, supplies, tees, balls, etc. Manage Bag Room Club Storage master list and billing. Manage Painting & Marking Golf Course including Drop Zones Manage Golf Shop Operations Radios Assist with all opening and closing procedures Assist in managing facility tournament operations including weekly events Assist in tournament operations and weekly events including planning, pre-tournament prep. Play golf with members in competitive and non-competitive situations Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times Assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments Knowledge, Skills and TraitsAttain Equipment Certifications for vendors carried Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations Fundamental supervisory practices and principles Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills Self-motivated with desire to promote and market Service and customer focused attitude Experienced in written and oral business communications Remain up-to-date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies Experienced computer user including; Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, texting, Golf Genius tournament software, Jonas software & App Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trends Expected work hours and physical requirements:In season work weeks consist of 40 plus hours per week with two days off Out of season work weeks consist of 35 plus hours per week Will be expected to be on your feet for long stretches at a time Should expect to lift and move items in excess of 40 pounds Will be working in very cold to very hot outside environments
The Outside Operations Manager assists the Head Golf Professional, Lead Assistant and Assistant Professional in the management of day-to-day golf operations of the facility. The position is responsible to supervise and manage the total outside golf operations. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of the members and guest of Sycamore Hills Golf Club.
