    Tam-O-Shanter Country Club is a private club with a rich history located in West Bloomfield, MI. The club is vibrant and active, with approximately 15,000+ rounds and growing. Tam-O-Shanter Country Club has a lively tournament program featuring member events, member-guest events, weekly leagues, junior events as well as couples events.

    This position will assist in the daily golf operation in all aspects. As an assistant at Tam-O-Shanter Country Club, you will be involved in tournament operations, merchadising, and player delvelopment.

    An assistant golf professional at Tam-O-Shanter Country Club will conduct themselves professionally at all times, have a passion for the game of golf, have a team player attitude with the willingness to learn and grow, and be an ambassador of the golf experience at Tam-O-Shanter.

    This is a 10 month position with the opportunity for year-round extension.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    -Execute day to day operations
    -Manage and execute running member events, leagues, and outings in all aspects
    -Instruct individual lessons and clinics
    -Promote Golf Pro Shop Merchandise
    -Active at Vendor Demo Days
    -Perform club fittings to members
    -Assist in managing Golf Pro Shop Merchandise
    -Hard Goods
    -Receiving, displaying, managing special orders, and monthly inventory
    -Assist in implementing a first-class teaching program for the membership
    -USGA Handicap Management
    -Facilitate and assist in frequent communications to the membership
    -Assist with the golfer experience by monitoring pace of play, playing with members, and consistently provide a professional presence at the club
    -Other duties deemed as necessary

    Experience Required
    -PGA Member in good standing
    -BA/BS degree preferred
    -Proficient in use of: Golf Genius, Publisher, Excel, and Word
    -Private Club experience
    -Club fitting and club repair basic knowledge
    -Fundamental knowledge of the Rules of Golf
    -Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
    -Proficient in use of TrackMan, FlightScope, and other launch monitor technology
