The Country Club of Sapphire Valley (CCSV) is a private, member-owned club which was founded in 1956. It is considered one of the premier Golf and Country Clubs in the Carolinas. CCSV is a seasonal 8- month club with an extensive social calendar from May through October. The Club is nestled at 3500 feet elevation, between Chimney Top and Bald Rock Mountains in Sapphire, NC, minutes from Cashiers and Highlands, NC. Cashiers is a small mountain town that boasts a world-class charter school as well as the Blue Ridge School. Our membership consists of a family of warm, caring friendships that last a lifetime. This is the hallmark of our beautiful club. CCSV is home to an 18-hole championship golf course, one of the top-ranked private courses in Western NC. It is recognized as one of renowned golf course architect George Cobb’s best designs, along with other well-respected courses including Quail Hollow Club and the par three course at Augusta National. The course is perfectly integrated into Sapphire’s breathtaking mountain landscape, combining beautiful high mountain vistas with the playability of a traditional flat course, making it the only “walker friendly” golf course in the surrounding mountain area.
The Country Club of Sapphire Valley (CCSV) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Golf Professional to join our golf operations team. This individual will play a key leadership role in delivering an exceptional member golf experience, supporting daily operations, staff leadership, member engagement, and player development programs. The ideal candidate is a golf professional with a passion for service, leadership, and the game of golf.
The Assistant Professional is a highly visible and integral member of the Golf Staff. Successful candidates will bring a great attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and lead. A pleasant, outgoing personality, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to serve as a role model for the team are essential. A desire and proven ability to assist in managing the golf shop, tournament operations, staff supervision, and member services are required.
This position reports directly to the Director of Golf and works closely with the entire professional staff to ensure a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for all members and guests. In addition to daily operational responsibilities, the Assistant will have meaningful opportunities in tournament management, merchandising, instruction, club fitting, administration, and relationship building. The position also includes leading the operation in the absence of the Head Professional. Regularly playing with members and staff is also an essential part of the role and is highly encouraged at CCSV.
Experience Preferred
• Class A PGA Member preferred but not required
• Proficiency in all aspects of tournament operations
• Strong multi-tasking ability
• Excellent communication and member-service skills
• High attention to detail with strong organizational habits
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Golf Genius Tournament Software

Compensation & Benefits
• Hourly Rate of $24.00-$27.00 per hour (based on experience), Seasonal Schedule (adjustable based on experience)
• Total Anticipated Income: $30,000-$35,000
• Housing: Quality on-site or local housing provided
• Lesson Rate: $100- $125 (based on experience)
