    Vestavia Country Club, nestled in the mountains of Vestavia Hills, spans over a 176 acre area. In the late 1940's the original plans for VCC started with a riding club called Vestavia Hills Riding Club. It was eventually decided that a country club would better suit the needs of the people of Vestavia and the name was changed to Vestavia Country Club.It is a treasure for its finely manicured grounds, breathtaking views, extraordinary golf courses, and upscale facilities. VCC offers members a resort - like experience just minutes from home.Member amenities include an 18-hole golf course, 9-hole Par 3 course, 15 tennis courts, a full-service fitness center, resort style pool, intermediate pool, adult infinity edge pool, and an premiere child care center.

    POSITION CONCEPT:
    The Assistant Golf Professional will assist with the management of the daily golf operations including, but not limited to, golf instruction, merchandising operation, managing staff, and coordinating all tournament operations. The position will promote an exceptional “golf experience”, and provide excellent services and programs to all members, their families, and guests.

    SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
     Provide exemplary service to both members and guests of Vestavia Country Club. Have a service-minded attitude.
     Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
     Serve as an ambassador of the Club by tirelessly promoting, serving and representing Vestavia Country Club and understanding the importance of both the golf operation and the Club as a whole.
     Assist the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional in the management and execution of an extensive tournament schedule.
     Maintain an active role in the merchandise operation, working closely with the Merchandise Manager in terms of receipt, display, inventory control, promotion, and sales of merchandise.
     Assists with scheduling fitting events and trunk shows.
     Provide lessons to all segments of the membership, including: juniors, ladies, men, and seniors.
     Assist in the training, supervision, and mentoring of the Outside Service Staff and Interns.
     Professionally, respectfully, and tactfully interprets, informs and enforces Club policies with members, guests, and staff.
     Maintain a high level playing ability, playing not only with the membership, but also in Alabama-Northwest Florida PGA Section events.
     Assist the other Professional Staff in supervising and managing the total golf operation in an effective and efficient manner in the absence of the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional.
     Work closely with the Outside Service Staff; monitoring and maintaining the required pace of play, assisting in the supervision and training of both outside service staff and interns, work alongside the outside service staff to ensure all areas of the operation run smoothly, and managing the practice areas and bag room.
     All Golf Professionals will maintain an active classification within the PGA of America. If not already a PGA Member, they will actively pursue their membership.
     Perform other related duties as required.
