Vineyard Golf Club opened for play in 2002 on a Donald Steel designed layout. After consideration for the routing, golf experience and with sensitivity to the organic maintenance practices that are carefully followed, Gil Hanse was hired to lead a complete course and practice area renovation. These changes led to VGC being given the “Best New Private” award from Golf Magazine in 2015.VGC has one of the best caddie programs in the country. The golf course offers a gentle walk with more than 90% of all rounds being represented by walkers (less than 10% are with a cart). The course sees around 15,000 rounds annually and most of these take place in a busy 10 week stretch beginning in June and ending on Labor Day. The tournament schedule offers a delicate balance that takes this busy stretch into consideration while also striving to keep the course open for member play.
