Our season goes from November to April/May. Our Fiscal year ends June 30. If a member wins golf shop credit before April 1, they must use it by June 30 or it expires. If a member wins golf shop credit after April 1, it can roll over to the next season.
Credit book is tracked through our retail pos system. All merchandise purchases are automatically applied to the credit book. Credit may not be used for services (lessons, club repair, shipping). Credit does not expire.
We recently changed to expire at the end of the year. This helped to promote more sales around the holidays. Prior to the change, they tended to hang on to them indefinitely.
We like to have all credit book expire at the end of the calendar year. We send constant reminders about their credit book account and also use credit book with every purchase if they have a balance.
We do expire our Member certificates, but would like to develop a strategy to do just that. I own the Shop and would prefer to not have these credits on the books for a long period. I am interested to hear how others handle their credit book.

Expires at the end of season. Offer used club trade-in, specifically on demo day. 100% goes into shop credit.
