As for now we are on hold with Jr. golf. The whole gathering in numbers and social distancing isn’t exactly ideal for our Jr. Program. Working with my staff to create some sort of option for Jr Golf
Initial phase will be to postpone/cancel clinics/camps likely until mid-June. Take cues from CDC and local and state authorities as to when we can ramp up activities. Considering limiting age/time limit for individual Instruction as well as developing a plan to limit clinics/camps to members only we used to allow non-member juniors from surrounding towns to participate. Max capacity to be approx 4:1 student/teacher ratio.
individual instruction on the range with social distancing and walking a couple of holes on the golf course is all we have right now. Clinics and organized programs virtually but hopeful for some other option soon.
We are delaying until 7/1 to see what restrictions the county has in place at that time. Most likely though is no group clinics, just individual instruction with social distancing.
We planned an extensive program something everyday starting March 10 and had a large number signed up to participate. All got thrown out the door w/Covid19. Through April and May we have been running what we call the wave system. We have 5 golf professionals each professionals takes 3 or 4 juniors for an hour for practice and clinic or 2 hours to play 9 holes – depending on day. The wave comes into play the first group may start at 2:00, then second group at 3:00 etc. so not to create too much crowding in practice areas or on the first tee. It has worked great and each session has been full. The governor of Kentucky given the green light June 15th for junior camp and sportswe hope to return to partial normal then.
I do not expect us to start a junior program until July. I think we will be able to run PGA junior league and junior private lessons in June. If we do a formal junior program, I think we will have to split it into multiple days to make sure groups sizes are not getting bigger than the governor’s allowance. I think the PGA junior league is going to be one of the few junior programs we will be able to run this season.

will start small groups soon w. clinics. all safety precautions will follow ST CT Guidelines.
Camps will be limited as well and we expect to start those end June
I was originally going to cancel all summer camps, however may look into adding camps all summer, however making them very limited in size.

Unknown, but have developed several options to adapt as needed.

Hopefully we will be running in June.
