Since I own the Golf Shop I am concerned on how to safely get traffic into the shop.
Initially in phase 1 members most likely will not be allowed to come inside.
I sense a big decline in sales maybe even more than 50%.
I have an online golf shop but just not the same.
The biggest challenge will be relaying to the membership that it takes time to ramp up operations to full scale. Many will feel because of the time of year we reopen that things will go immediately back to normal. It will take time to get the shop in order as well as new staff. This typically happens in shoulder season not mid-season.
With one person per cart (excluding families) it will be hard to have a cart available for each member when they arrive to play, keeping in mind that all carts must be disinfected after each round
changing policies, procedures and training for employees. Implementing new rules and regulations for members and managing member expectations. Executing events, tournaments, clinics and junior golf in group settings may not be possible. Finding ways to engage members in golf shop sales without demo days, fitting days, trunk shows and golf shop credit from events.
Not being able to satisfy our large membership. We have a large membership and with lengthier tee time intervals and members have more free time, we expect to experience capacity issues.
Biggest change we anticipate is single use cart restrictions. This potentially will play havoc with larger group shotgun events
